Group Charter for Sports Teams, Film Crews and Events
Teams and crews travel with more than suitcases: kit bags, camera cases, lighting and costumes. They also run on schedules that do not match airline timetables. A group charter solves both, as long as the planning starts with the cargo and the clock.
Start with the numbers
- People: the exact headcount, including support staff.
- Equipment: number of cases, approximate sizes and weights, and anything oversized.
- Special items: batteries, gas cylinders, pyrotechnics or other items that may count as dangerous goods need declaring in advance and may not be allowed.
Choosing the aircraft
Business jets typically seat up to 13 or 14, like the Legacy 650, Global 6000 or G550 listed on our fleet page. Larger groups either split across two aircraft or use a larger airliner-type charter where available. For heavy equipment, splitting people and cargo across two aircraft is often the most reliable plan.
Timing around fixtures and shoots
- Fly the day before a fixture or shoot wherever you can.
- For same-night returns after an event, remember crew duty limits. See crew duty limits and long days.
- Coordinate ground transport for equipment at both airports.
Sports teams
For league fixtures and tournaments, the priority is rest and routine. Charter lets a team fly after a match instead of waiting for the next morning's scheduled flight, and arrive with time to recover. Physios' equipment, kit bags and sometimes cold-storage items need planning; share the list early.
Film and production crews
Production schedules move. Charter gives crews the flexibility to shift a day when weather or permits change, and to move talent separately from equipment. For aerial filming, helicopters need specific permissions, which take time to obtain. Mention filming at the quote stage.
Corporate events and offsites
For offsites and incentive trips, a charter becomes part of the experience. Branded catering, a group briefing on board and arrival as one group all add to the event. Larger groups may use two aircraft flying in sequence.
Paperwork
Collect everyone's name as per ID and a contact number well in advance. For international trips, passport details and visas are needed. See international charter basics.
Remote locations
Shoots in remote locations sometimes need a fixed-wing flight to the nearest airport plus a helicopter for the final stretch. Helicopter weight limits are strict, so equipment may need to travel separately by road.
Share your headcount and equipment list when you request a quote, and a flight advisor will propose the right aircraft combination.
Share your route and dates, and a flight advisor will respond the same day with real availability and pricing.

Plans change. Before you confirm a charter, it helps to understand how changes and cancellations are usually handled, and which parts are outside anyone's control.
